Psalm Reflection: Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time (Cycle B)

“Praise the Lord, my soul!” - Psalm 146

Why should we praise the Lord? With everything going on in the world, our divided country, and our wounded Church, it can be difficult to see the light or feel hope in the midst of such darkness. It can be difficult to feel like there is anything worth praising. It is at times like these we need to cling to the moments of gratitude we pass by everyday: a smile, laughter, a good cup of coffee, a deep conversation, a loving friendship, fresh air, the smell of rain, the sound of the ocean, an amazing meal, baby noises, a good hug, and so many other things worth enjoying and filling our day with. What are all of the things you are in too much of a hurry to notice or enjoy each day? Are you too quick to jump to the negative or the critical instead of giving others the benefit of the doubt? This week, try to fast from the things that cause negativity in your life, whether it is social media, the news, a relationship, etc., and notice one new thing you are grateful for each day. Praise God for those moments of gratitude, because without Him we would have none of them. We are praying for you this week.

See you in Eucharist!
